A Message from Underwood's Safe Routes to School Committee

The Safe Routes to School (SRTS) Program is an opportunity to make walking and bicycling to school safer and more accessible for children, including those with disabilities, and to increase the number of children who choose to walk and bicycle. On a broader level, SRTS programs can enhance children’s health and well-being, ease traffic congestion near the school and improve air quality and improve community members’ overall quality of life. Please take a look at the Safe Routes to School website: www.saferoutesinfo.org.

Summary of 2010-11 PTO Survey

We are appreciative of the parents who took the time to fill out the Underwood PTO survey last spring. Please click here to see a summary of the responses and comments you shared.  This summary has been submitted by PTO co-presidents Laura Davis and Erin Lake.  Please note that at this juncture, the PTO intends to issue the survey as the school year wraps up each year.  If you have any questions or comments about the survey or for the PTO in general, please email underwoodpto@gmail.com.  Thank you again.

Start of School Information

In an effort to "go green" this year, we have introduced an online version of the welcome packet that was provided to you on the first day of school. ( Please click "read more" to see links to documents.)  Hardcopies of much of this same information was sent home in children's backpacks on Sept. 6.  We encourage you to read through all of the information that is being provided, hoping it will be useful to you as the school year is suddenly underway...
