February Vacation with Newton Parks and Rec

 

Family Movie Day and Night at the West Newton Cinema  Feb 21 & 22, 2012
Special $6.00 price includes a MOVIE, POPCORN, and SODA.  See The Muppets or Alvin & the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked.  Tickets will be sold on the day of the event at the West Newton Cinema at 1296 Washington St. This is a very popular event and tickets may sell out.  Ticket sales will begin at 10:00 AM for the Movie Day on Tuesday and Wednesday with movies starting at 11:00 AM.  Ticket sales will begin at 4:15 PM for the Movie Night on Tuesday with movies starting at 6:15 PM. 

Nursery School Enrollment

Temple Shalom Nursery School in West Newton believes in partnering with parents in their child’s education experience. We seamlessly integrate Secular and Judaic curriculum. We are committed to connecting children with Nature. We have developed a nutritious snacks menu. We offer flexible longer hours through our  on-site babysitting option from 2:30pm (when our program ends) to 5pm as needed.

Sunday School for Jewish Studies - Open Enrollment

The Sunday School for Jewish Studies is now accepting registrations for grades K-7 for the 2012-2013 school year. The Sunday School is an independent school offering a once-a-week program for children in the greater Boston area for over 40 years. Located at the Oak Hill Middle School in Newton, our school is committed to providing a Jewish education that fosters a strong sense of Jewish identity for children and families with diverse traditions of Jewish observance. Bar/Bat Mitzvah preparation is available but not required, and students may enter in any grade. Interfaith and nontraditional families are welcome. "Bridging the Generations" Intergenerational music classes from Brookline Music School

Join us for a special kind of music-making! This class combines all the elements of a regular music class, but it is set in a senior living facility, where the residents participate with us by singing, playing instruments, or simply watching. The class allows for and encourages interaction between the children and the seniors. With rhythm instruments, songs, play materials and movement, we create a rich musical experience for everyone.

A Step Ahead Basketball for April Vacation

A Step Ahead (ASA) basketball is offering a five day clinic this April Vacation from 9AM-1PM for boys and girls ages 8-14. Club Invention Summer Program Returns!

July 9-13 and July 16-20, Newton South High School
 

Club Invention focuses on projects that enhance creativity, teamwork, and inventive-thinking skills. Children entering grades 1-6 participate daily in five project modules promoting science, technology, engineering, math, and the arts through creative problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
